WAKE
Wake first appeared at the University of Melbourne's MUDFest in 2013 as Problems of Definitions to sold out shows and a favorable response from audience and critics. This debut musical by the Cryptophasia company explores the story of Laura as she waits in the claustrophobic confines of a hospital waiting room. As various doctors and patients try to discover what Laura is waiting for, or whether she is waiting for anything at all, a story unfolds that explores love, loss, grief and hope. With the assistance of Somewhat Proper Productions and the University of Melbourne, Wake premiered in its second iteration at the Adelaide Fringe in February 2014.

Would you like to be lied to? Would you like to be deceived? Well, there are five players in black who would very much like to lie to you. This original play within a play within a play is set within a rehearsal for a play as five play players play players rehearsing a play about a play not being a play. Confused yet? Good. Disorientation is the key.
