CRYPTOPHASIA is an independent theatre company that produces original contemporary and musical theatre works, currently based in Melbourne, Australia. The company was founded in 2012 with the launch of two productions premiering at MUDfest, the University of Melbourne's performing arts festival, in early 2013. The debut of their original musical "Wake" at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2014 was a critical success, and widely lauded by reviewers and audience alike. Their most recent production "Fish on Europa," premiered in the Guild Theatre in August 2014, to a universally positive critical response, and has further touring prospects in 2015. Although CRYPTOPHASIA shows deal with a wide variety of themes and stories, their goal is to challenge theatrical conventions and create works that stay with the audience long after the show is over.
